Warning!

Before embarking on any of my suggested ways of doing things please read this page. This is the kind of stuff I would cover in a coaching relationship but as I can’t interview you all I need some way of getting this information to you.

If you change yourself there will be repercussions

I am obviously very much in favour of people changing themselves for the better. It is a natural part of any person to learn and grow. However when you change you will have an effect on people around you and on your world.

I hesitated to mention this because it might sound negative but I don’t want anyone to take my suggestions and then discover that things have happened that they did not anticipate.

Count the cost to yourself and others

You are very important - of course you are - and so you should always try to understand what the cost to you of the changes will be. The benefits should always outweigh the costs but without knowing both the benefits and the costs you may be going to give yourself a problem.

Other people are important as well. Let’s take a hypothetical example. Someone visits this site and decides it has always been their life long dream to travel around the world so they quit their job, sell their house and use the money to buy tickets to travel the world. However they are also a wife and a mother and the main breadwinner for the family. There is a major cost to the marriage, the children and the family as a whole. In this case I would suggest the costs outweigh the benefits. I’m not suggesting there may not be a way to make this example work but as it is shown above it would just be plain wrong.

So always consider the costs and decide if you are prepared for the consequences.

Consider what is in the best interests of your health

If you are trying to get fit or lose weight you should never do anything that is going to put your existing health at risk.

If you feel you should take drastic action then seek a medical opinion before you do anything.

If you have or you are ill always ask your doctor before undertaking any exercise or diets.

If you are over 40 and do not currently take regular exercise you should ask your doctor before undertaking any rigorous exercise.

Coaching is not a substitute for counselling or psychotherapy or medical help

The methods listed on this site are designed to help people help themselves. They are all presented from a coaching perspective. That is they are for regular people who do not have any serious problems. If you have an issue in your past which is blocking you from moving forwards you should seek the help of a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist. If your doctor has indicated that you need counselling or psychotherapy you should follow that advice.

If you are at all unsure about what help you need please seek the help of a qualified medical professional before making use of this site.

If you are currently seeing a counsellor or psychotherapist or psychiatrist or medical professional of any sort you should ask their opinion about using the techniques presented on this site.

I don’t control what are on any other websites

From time to time I will put up links to other web sites. I am not responsible for what those sites say or promote. The reason I use links is to enable you to see what others are saying or to explore a question further. There are also adverts to try and offset the cost of running the blog. Just because I put up a link does not mean I in any way endorse what the other websites promote. I’m sure you understand.

This last part is more an encouragement than a warning. If you are a regular person trying to improve yourself - perhaps to build your confidence or make a change in your life then this site provides powerful tools to help you.

After using some of this sites techniques your life can be happier and more fulfilling. Your dreams really can come true.
