The Method
Everyone is different and it might seem strange to talk about a method that would suit every situation. This means – of course – that the method has to be so broad that in effect it is simply a framework to build your plans for personal development on. The Method then is really a framework for change.
Having said this I do believe that to succeed or find happiness or find fulfillment there needs to be a method. Just occasionally someone strikes gold when they were not expecting it but most of the time gold is found because it was being looked for. What I mean is that people who succeed in life are those who follow a method.
I believe that the method involves a fair amount of effort. I want to avoid the phrase “hard work” (although sometimes in my blog I might forget and say it anyway) because this can put people off getting started. Effort doesn’t need to be “work” (in the sense of slog you don’t want to do) and it may not be particularly hard (although most things worth attaining involve stretching yourself which I guess means it’s hard). The point is that there is no magical solution to life. I’ve read a lot of stuff about tuning into the cosmos for success but, despite the sincerity of the people who believe this, I don’t think this actually works – at least not without the same kind of effort you would need without having the cosmos on your side. If this belief helps you stay positive then that’s great but this is not a philosophy I can subscribe to and you won’t find it here.
Which “method” you follow will be up to you but without a method you are probably doomed to failure.
In this site you will find all kinds of tools and helps for people who are seeking a way forwards in life. It is essentially a pick and mix approach – you find what works for you an incorporate it into your method (framework for success).
However I will suggest some basics for any method. There are some basic assumptions but perhaps more importantly a framework for change.
The framework has been researched over many years and is a good basis for beginning any programme of change. Take some time to understand the framework because it can be a powerful tool to help you.
