Getting enough sleep is essential for anyone for all kinds of reasons. If you are not getting enough rest then you will be under too much stress.
Not enough sleep puts strain on the body and the mind
This time I want us to pay special attention to sleep. If we don’t get enough sleep it increases the stress our body feels. I don’t know exactly how much sleep you personally need but most people need between 10 and 8 hours every night. Staying up late makes you less productive the next day.
Have a regular sleep pattern
For one week I’d like you to choose a time you are going to go to bed and a time you are going to get up. Don’t worry about the length you spend asleep right now but just endeavour to have a regular sleep time. Having a regular time will help you sleep better (even at weekends – although this might be a time to catch up a little if you have been denying yourself sleep during the week).
Then once you have done this for a week you may feel you want to move the time you go to bed a little earlier (don’t overdo it or you will give up just move say 15 minutes earlier). This will give you more sleep (an extra 1.75 hours over a week).
At the end of this time assess whether you feel it is making a difference.
Remember that it is also possible to have too much sleep. Too much sleep is also not good for. Blimey will it never end?
Remember if you work hard you have to have plenty of rest.
How do you make sure you get enough sleep?
What things do you do to make sure you are getting enough sleep. There are all kinds of resources available to help with sleep perhaps you could tell us some of the good ones you have found.
