For many people one of the best ways to relax is to exercise. Sport (doing it – not watching it) has always been important in the fight against stress.
Exercise will reduce the effects that stress has on your body
Because when we are under stress our body is preparing itself for running away if we actually let it run away (e.g. some form of exercise) then it can release the stress and help us relax.
Warning
For my own conscience I need to issue a warning here. If you are under severe stress or are getting older and have not exercised for a long time you should go and see your doctor and ask their advice. I’m sure you doctor will be delighted with you making a effort and will encourage you to get started but some people put themselves at risk if they take vigerous exercise when their bodies are not up to it.
What are you doing to do today to make a difference?
Exercise is important for many reasons and very few of us get enough of it. So what can you do today to make that better? The more adventurous might want to cycle to work the rest of us might say we will walk the dog a little further or we will go for a walk after work for 20 minutes. At the point the length of time you spend is not important I want you to get used to doing more on a regular basis. Of course there are ideals for all of this but the important thing for most people is to get started.
What is your favourite exercise?
All of us have different ideas about what is good as a form of exercise. Why not tell others what you do in case you exercise in a way that they had never thought about before.
